At Giannis Collection we take great pride in using only the finest ingredients when crafting your candles and we want you to experience the optimal joy when lighting and using our products. We use 100% Soy Wax made from soy beans and other natural ingredients. Since there are no additives in your candles, frosting and discoloration are normal and will not affect the quality of your candle. Frosting is when a white layer forms on the surface of natural waxes, and this effect takes place when the candle tries to return to its natural state. Frosting is a good indication that you are lighting a natural candle.
Some benefits of using soy wax include the following:
Q: My candles have a frosted look on the top. Is that normal?
A: This is actually a common occurrence in soy and organic candles. Even when following the temperature guidelines closely, frosting can still occur over time. The frosting in no way affects the quality of the candle, in fact it’s a good indication that a candle is actually natural.
Q: Are these candles made by Giannis Collection or do you have a manufacturer who imports these?
A: All candles are handmade and hand-poured by Giannis Collection. There is no manufacturer for any part of the candle-making process.
Q: My candle has a small bubble on top. Why is that?
A: At times small amounts of air may get trapped in the wax when the candle is poured which form these air bubbles. When the candle is lit, these bubbles are able to be released through the melted wax. This in no way affects the quality of the candle.
Q: My candle appears to be slightly yellow? Is that okay?
A: Regardless of the type of wax, all candles are affected by natural and artificial light at some point. Fragrances with a high vanillin content such as many citrus scents can cause the wax to develop a yellow/orangish tint within a few hours; whereas Fragrances with small amounts of vanillin such as floral scents tend to cause a gradual yellowing over time.
